Treatment of cats for hyperthyroidism with Radioactive Iodine (I-131) is the preferred method of therapy. It is as easy as one injection just under the skin. I-131 is safe and effective. After the injection your cat will be required to stay at the treatment center for 2 to 14 days until the level of radiation is at an acceptable level.
