Take special note around 31 minutes into the presentation Dr. Avram points out the dangers of LOW-LEVEL exposure to children. This is the risk that children and pregnant women have to worry about when coming into contact with I131 contamination. This is why it is so important to properly clean up the isolation area. The I131 may have left the patients body in 2-5 days, but any contamination left behind, will still be there for many weeks, unless you remove it.
